Dietary Fats and the Gut Microbiota: Their impacts on lipid-induced metabolic syndrome

نویسندگان

چکیده

The metabolic syndrome (MetS) produces low-grade inflammation, endothelial dysfunction, platelet hyperactivity, oxidative stress and ultimately contributes to cardiovascular disease (CVD) development. Fatty acids such as n-3 n-6, monounsaturated, conjugated, highly unsaturated, short-chain types, their metabolism can impact the development of MetS associated features. Furthermore, quality quantity dietary fats influence gut microbiota composition that alters an individual's health. modulates components via different mechanisms. swing host balance in energy homeostasis, motility, appetite, lipid carbohydrate metabolism, fat storage liver. In addition, impairment microbial population by a high-fat diet lead systemic inflammation insulin resistance. review summarizes impacts on interactions with modulating risk factors syndrome. .

Gut Microbiota and Metabolic Disorders

Gut microbiota plays critical physiological roles in the energy extraction and in the control of local or systemic immunity. Gut microbiota and its disturbance also appear to be involved in the pathogenesis of diverse diseases including metabolic disorders, gastrointestinal diseases, cancer, etc. In the metabolic point of view, gut microbiota can modulate lipid accumulation, lipopolysaccharide ...

A gut microbiota-targeted dietary intervention for amelioration of chronic inflammation underlying metabolic syndrome

Chronic inflammation induced by endotoxin from a dysbiotic gut microbiota contributes to the development of obesity-related metabolic disorders. Modification of gut microbiota by a diet to balance its composition becomes a promising strategy to help manage obesity. A dietary scheme based on whole grains, traditional Chinese medicinal foods, and prebiotics (WTP diet) was designed to meet human n...

The gut microbiota, dietary extremes and exercise.

The GI tract is colonised by trillions of bacteria in a complex community collectively referred to as the gut microbiota. This metabolically active ‘foreign’ body contributes to host metabolism and immune system development and changes in its composition have been implicated in many chronic diseases including obesity and diabetes. Under normal conditions, this metabolically active ‘foreign’ bod...

Impact of the Gut Microbiota on Vaccine Responses

Non-responsiveness or poor responsiveness to vaccines are challenging issues in vaccine development, and efforts have been made to find out the potential reasons for these conditions. Intestinal microbiome plays a key role in regulating and development of immune system and the composition and diversity of microbiota in different individuals on the one hand, and the imbalance of intestinal micro...
